Terms of Service

Effective 5 September 2026Version 1.0

Plain terms for a small product. Where something is a real limit on what you get, it is stated as a limit rather than hidden in a clause.

01

What you are agreeing to

By creating an account or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not create an account — there is no version of the product that works without one.

02

What the product is, and is not

Vowbind is an accountability tool. It records what you said you would do, prompts you about it, logs the sessions you run, and reports on the gap.

  • It does not block apps. Version one keeps a distraction watchlist, accepts your own reports of interruptions, and can switch on Do Not Disturb during a session. Enforced blocking is on the roadmap and is not part of what you are paying for today.
  • It does not guarantee any outcome. No focus tool can make you finish work, and we make no claim that it will.
  • It is not medical or psychological treatment. If procrastination is significantly affecting your life, speak to a professional — the app is not a substitute for one.
03

Accounts and your content

You are responsible for what you put in. Task titles, reflections and stake messages are yours; you keep ownership of them, and you grant us only the licence needed to store, display and sync them back to you.

Do not use the product to harass anyone. Nudges and stake links are addressed to people who opted into watching you — using them any other way ends the account.

04

Public stake links

A stake link is public to anyone who has the URL. It shows the task title you chose, its deadline, your session progress and how many times the task has moved.

Do not stake anything you would not want a stranger to read. The link is unlisted, not private.
05

Subscriptions and payment

Annual Pro is $39.99 a year after a seven-day free trial. Monthly Pro is $7.99 a month. Founding Lifetime is a single $79 payment, capped at the first 200 purchasers.

All billing runs through Google Play. We never see your card. Cancel any time in Google Play; cancelling stops the next charge and does not refund the current period. Refunds are handled under Google Play policy, not by us.

06

What Founding Lifetime actually covers

Lifetime means the lifetime of the product, not of you. It covers every feature currently shipped and everything on the published roadmap, for as long as the app operates.

If we ever shut the product down, lifetime holders get 90 days notice and a full data export. It cannot mean more than that, so we will not imply it does.
07

Early access

While in early access the product is free, incomplete and occasionally broken. Features may change or be removed. Data loss is unlikely but possible, and we will tell you plainly if it happens.

08

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from the app or from the deletion page on this site. We can suspend an account for harassment, payment fraud or attempts to break the service. Otherwise we will not close your account without telling you why.

09

Liability

The product is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous twelve months. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law where you live.

10

Changes to these terms

If we change anything that materially affects you, you get 30 days notice by email before it takes effect, and the version number above changes. Continuing to use the app after that counts as acceptance.
